Jersey Wedding

I have provided makeup and gele services for so many wonderful brides, but I have to say, Taiwo is my favorite to date. She's such a sweetheart, and has a heart of platinum (far better than gold). I had the pleasure of spending the day with her, and her twin, during the traditional engagement, and then the wedding.

Wedding in Waxahachie, Texas

It was a gorgy day, nice and warm in Texas...

I met Shola at a client's wedding. She liked my work so much that she inquired about my services. I have never met a bride that smiled so much. Look at her pics, and you'll see what I mean. I had a blast at the traditional engagement and wedding!

Wow! It's been a while..and I have missed you.

Since last year, I must say that I have been at work. I'll share some of them with you.

I hope these words inspire you as they inspire me. This year, I hope to accomplish every one of them.

Happy New Year!!

It has been a longtime coming. [sigh]. About three years ago, i introduced my blog...this is a continuation of where i paused.

A whole lot has happened! I got married, and i am constantly evolving. :) I have a strong feeling that this year is going to be a great one! There's a "newness" about it. Of course, this year, i will bring more to the blog, including my makeup journey and quest to improve my photog skills.

Introduction & Engagement

In the Yoruba culture of Nigeria, West Africa, there is a ceremony and celebration we call an "Engagement".

This takes place after the couple's relatives have already met, introduced one another, and the lady's family has agreed to the gentleman's marriage proposal (This process is called an Introduction). The engagement is also known as the traditional marriage ceremony...

Most women of the Yoruba culture look forward to their engagement ceremony...the beautiful beads, laces, and their GELE, lol, and make-up of course!
